WEEK NINE TNF
GREEN BAY PACKERS 5-2)@ SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (3-4)
+2.5 50 [U]
Stay away from this game—like it’s Covid positive…
San Fran’s offense is missing every key skill player—two WRs, two, RBs, and their starting QB—who admittedly is not much of a loss. I won’t bother to mention their best pass rushers, and most experienced DBs are also injured. (Note the use of plurals). All of this pain is due to football injuries, unrelated to the pandemic.
If the Niners running game works even a little with 3rd stringer JaMycal Hasty toting the rock it could still be a long night for an awful Packer run defense that got stomped for 173 yards last week against the Norsemen.
(It pains me to remind you I called for a big Pack win as my Lock of the Week.)
This week, the Prospectors might all come together and find a pot of gold as two computer models I check out both spit out a home victory, Over the Total, by the Niners, probably based on these three nuggets culled from various sites:
Teams crossing two time zones to play on a Thursday haven’t won--in twelve years.
Even worse for the Pack is their futility the last 2+ years on the West Coast, 0-5 SU with only one ATS win in that span
The already short week was shortened to mostly Zoom practices after RB, A.J. Dillon’s Covid test came back positive…
The Pack’s only glimmer of hope might lie in their 4-0 record after a loss and 4-2 record as a Road Faves under Matt LeFleur.
I’ll go with Rodgers and Green Bay; the Niners can barely field a team.
We’ll take the Under.
Packers 31 Niners 17
