LOCK OF THE WEEK
New Orleans Saints (+6) @ Dallas Cowboys (-6) 45.5 [U]
The Wise Guys made sure there wasn’t a legitimate lock on the Week Two slate, so keep that in mind before you think my pick is a confident one...
Dallas is all in on Dak Prescott, and it’s about time. Of course, as a die-hard Steelers fan, I can only hope Jerry Jones and the gang fall flat on their faces and the “Boys go 1-15 the rest of the way.
Truth is, Dallas is stacked on both sides of the with elite talent at almost every level. I can only hope Dallas players continue to be the perennial underachievers--a caricature of “America’s Team”--continue to believe they are special, and fail to sniff a championship game for a 29th straight year.
On the Saintly side, Dennis Allen still hasn’t taken a major step forward as an NFL head coach. He needs to do that, but we don’t think that movement will occur this week. The Cowboys have better roster-wide talent. We’re laying the points--Under the Number.

UPSET SPECIAL
New York Jets (-4) @ Tennessee Titans (+4) 43.5 US [O]
Aaron Rodgers looked like an old man coming off Achilles surgery against the 49ers on Monday...
How’s that for insight?
The Titans held Caleb Williams and Da Bears to almost nothing but lost last week. Chicago blocked a punt and QB, Will Levis flipped a back-handed pass into the gleeful arms of CB, Tyrique Stevenson, who took it to Pick-Sixville.
We think the Titans will learn from their mistakes.
Not sure about New York. HC, Robert Salah seemed off; the defense was uncoordinated, and the Jets seemed disinterested.
We just don’t think the Jets should be giving more than three points to any team...We’re going with the Under.

Jets 20
OVER/UNDER OF THE WEEK
Steelers (2.5) @ Broncos (+2.5) 37 [O]
Although Mike Tomlin’s Steelers lost two games to rookie quarterbacks last year, his record against such newbies is 24-6 in his 17 year stint as Pittsburgh’s head coach.
Denver ranks fourth as a Home Dog but their .469 winning percentage in that scenario is not impressive. Neither is their 2024 1st round pick, QB Bo Nix, who literally looked out of his league last week against Chicago.
Under new OC, Arthur Smith, the Steelers want to resurrect former incarnations of themselves. Run the football, take pressure off your young QB and your offense, play game-changing defense, and stay in every contest. That plan worked nicely last week against veteran QB, Kirk Cousins and the Birds of Prey.
Our thinking is with a respected OC like Smith, that elite defense, and Najee Harris running the ball, the Steelers should win this game by 4+ points--and that’s assuming the offense stinks again. In reality, we are looking for progress Justin Fields an company.
We’re laying the Home Dog chalk and playing the Over.
